Neovolt Oy has delivered and successfully commissioned its Neophy measurement and monitoring system at STR Tecoil’s refinery in Hamina. Neophy brings real-time visibility into a 1 MW alkaline electrolyser’s health, efficiency and ageing, with secure cloud integration for production optimisation. Installation and commissioning took place in late summer–autumn 2025, and the system is now in production use.
The Neophy system also meets STR Tecoil’s stringent cybersecurity requirements and complies with the company’s security policies.
“Neophy gives us a sharper toolbox for operations and maintenance. We can monitor the electrolyser’s performance and make decisions based on measurement data rather than intuition,” says Niko Honkasalo, Operations Manager, STR Tecoil.

The Neophy system is compatible with both alkaline and PEM electrolysers.
At STR Tecoil, Neophy supports quality management in green hydrogen production and continuous improvements in energy efficiency.
STR Tecoil and green hydrogen in Hamina
STR Tecoil (part of the TotalEnergies group) processes used lubricating oil and regenerates it into high-quality base oils. The Hamina facility uses green hydrogen in its process. Neophy’s visibility into hydrogen production performance helps reduce energy consumption, maintain product quality and plan investments based on transparent data.
